NWRA Accomplishments

When NWRA formed in November of 1994, the seven original founders wrote a Mission Statement for their new association. The association has accomplished much in the 14 years since.

  • Developed the Recommended Practice for the Repair of Windshields;
  • Initiated the development of the Repair of Laminated Automotive Glass Standard (ROLAGS) to be presented to ANSI;
  • Provided the public relations information for numerous articles and features in insurance industry magazines;
  • Represents your needs before other associations, networks, insurance companies and state licensing boards to educate them about windshield repair;
  • Meets privately with a number of insurers regarding industry;
  • Is developing a national windshield repair certification program;
  • Produces NWRA NEWS 12 times a year entirely devoted entirely to the windshield repair industry;
  • Maintains “current news of interest” about the windshield repair industry on its web site;
  • Produces two annual conferences with the opportunity to attend formal presentations and to network with fellow repairers;
  • Provide authors and input to both national auto glass magazines;
  • Provide information to auto glass and windshield repair websites;
  • Produced ten windshield repair industry conferences;
  • Provided the public relations information for numerous articles and features in insurance industry magazines;
  • Provided members with professionally developed public relations releases for local media;
  • Members have distributed to the public more than 500,000 "Your Guide to Windshield Repair" brochures;
  • Members have distributed to the public more than 500,000 Windshield Savers;
  • NWRA distributed nearly 10,000 copies of the Recommended Practice for the Repair of Windshields to insurers, state governments, state licensing boards, networks, auto glass shops and others;
  • Operate a web based referral system that has supplied thousands of customers with our member's names, addresses and phone numbers;
  • Provides information on the NWRA web site;
  • Provided states with periodic vehicle inspection with repair information including the Recommended Practice for the Repair of Windshields;
  • Supplied thousands of pages of relevant material to Connecticut's licensing board when licensing threatened the repair industry;
  • Met with other associations, networks, insurance companies and state licensing boards to educate them about windshield repair;
  • Exerted influence on model licensing acts and achieved a number of favorable modifications;
  • Provided states with periodic vehicle inspection with repair information and advice;
  • NWRA headquarters is a central unbiased source for anyone seeking information about windshield repair;
  • Testify, provide materials to and educate state licensing boards about windshield repair.
